Job Description:
HPE Financial Services (HPEFS) within HPE is seeking a Business Analyst – Automation & AI Solutions to play a pivotal role in shaping and accelerating our intelligent automation agenda. This is not a traditional BA role — it sits at the convergence of business strategy, process intelligence, and cutting-edge technology, requiring someone who can fluently bridge the worlds of business and technology while challenging stakeholders to think bigger and scalable.
As an individual contributor, you will be the trusted advisor and strategic translator between business teams and technical delivery squads — ensuring that every automation, AI, or analytics solution is grounded in real business value, built for scale, and tracked against a rigorous value realization framework. You will bring deep knowledge of the automation and AI ecosystem, a consultative mindset, and the intellectual curiosity to stay ahead of a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
HPE Financial services is where we help organizations create the investment they need for digital transformation, in an innovative and sustainable way. We partner with customers across their entire IT asset portfolio from edge to cloud to end-user. Unique to each client’s aspirations and size, our financial and asset management solutions are anchored by best-in-class tech upcycling services.
What You'll Do
Business & Technology Liaison
Serve as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring that business needs are accurately captured, clearly articulated, and translated into actionable technical requirements
Facilitate discovery workshops, process walkthroughs, and stakeholder interviews to develop a deep understanding of business processes, pain points, and strategic objectives
Build trusted relationships with business partners, acting as a strategic advisor on automation and AI possibilities
Communicate complex technical concepts in clear, business-friendly language and translate ambiguous business needs into precise, structured technical specifications
Automation & AI Solution Advisory
Apply deep knowledge of the automation and AI ecosystem to guide stakeholders on the most appropriate solution approach
Promote a holistic, end-to-end solution mindset over isolated point solutions
Articulate the art of the possible across automation, AI, and analytics — proactively bringing ideas, use cases, and industry benchmarks to stakeholder conversations to inspire broader thinking
Evaluate business problems holistically, designing solution blueprints that leverage the complementary strengths of automation, AI, and analytics working in concert
Scalability & ROI Maximization
Proactively identify and document opportunities to scale solutions across markets, geographies, and business functions to maximize return on investment and accelerate value delivery
Conduct feasibility and impact assessments for scaling initiatives, including process standardization requirements, localization considerations, and dependency mapping
Collaborate with delivery and architecture teams to ensure solutions are designed for reusability and scalability from the outset, not as an afterthought
Build the business case for horizontal scaling, presenting compelling ROI narratives to senior stakeholders to gain sponsorship and investment
Requirements, Documentation & Process Intelligence
Own the end-to-end requirements lifecycle — from initial discovery through to sign-off — ensuring documentation is comprehensive, precise, and fit for technical delivery
Produce high-quality Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Process Definition Documents (PDDs), Solution Design inputs, and User Stories that leave no ambiguity for development teams
Apply meticulous attention to detail in capturing process variances, exceptions, edge cases, and workarounds — understanding that the quality of automation is only as good as the completeness of the process captured
Proactively identify, document, and manage risks, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints throughout the solution lifecycle
Maintain a structured requirements traceability matrix to ensure all business needs are addressed through delivery and testing phases
Value Realization & Governance
Act as a champion of the Value Realization Framework, ensuring every digital asset has a clearly defined automation track with associated KPIs, baselines, and benefit targets
Ensure all automation and AI solutions are equipped with reporting and tracking capabilities — working with analytics teams to build dashboards and benefit reports that demonstrate measurable impact
Conduct post-implementation reviews to validate that realized benefits align with projected business cases and identify opportunities for further optimization
Support the continuous evolution of the value measurement methodology, contributing best practices and lessons learned back into the framework
Ensure all solutions are delivered in compliance with HPE's governance, risk, and compliance standards
Research, Self-Learning & Ecosystem Intelligence
Maintain a continuous self-learning framework by proactively researching emerging automation, AI, and analytics technologies, platforms, and methodologies to stay ahead of the curve
Conduct structured technology landscape research and produce insight reports, capability assessments, and recommendation papers for internal stakeholders
Support evaluation of new tools, models, and platforms — including emerging AI agents, LLMs, and generative AI capabilities — and assess their applicability to HPEFS's automation portfolio
Actively contributes to the digital community of practice, sharing knowledge, trends, and insights to elevate the capability of the broader team
What You'll Bring
Experience & Qualifications
7–10 years of experience in business analysis, with a strong and demonstrable focus on automation, AI, and digital transformation initiatives
Proven track record of delivering complex automation and AI projects end-to-end in a large enterprise environment
Experience working across multiple geographies and business functions, with an understanding of the nuances of scaling solutions globally
Demonstrated ability to work as an independent, expert-level contributor with minimal supervision, driving outcomes through influence rather than authority
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field
Relevant certifications in Business Analysis (CBAP, PMI-PBA), RPA platforms, or AI/analytics tools are advantageous
